Can fire alarm bells be silenced before automatic recorded message is played

Yes, fire alarm bells should be silenced before recorded message playback to allow message to be heard clearly. However, the alarm bells shall not be silenced immediately. The alarm bells should sound for at least 15 seconds before the automatic playback of recorded message.

The system interlock between fire alarm and one-way emergency voice communication systems should be co-ordinated to prevent confusing occupants.
